Small Business Spotlight Feature: Cases by Cherrell

Beautifuls, I absolutely love my custom cell phone case soooooooo much that I had to do a feature on it!!! Check out the video and see for yourself…to learn more about Cherrell & Cases by Cherrell read the Q&A below.

Q. What is your name and where are you from?
A. Cherrell. Baltimore, MD

Q. Can you tell us a little about your company (name, what you offer, when established, etc)?
A. I started my company in 2013, with no specific name other than, Cases by Cherrell. I create custom phone cases to represent many different personalities.

Q. What was your inspiration behind starting the brand and for each design?

A. I began making the custom phone cases after I lost a dead end search for my own custom case, soo.. I decided to make my own and it picked up ever since then!

Q. What distinguishes your product from other brands?

A. All of the designs are custom, however some started from my own likes and inspiration to create the initial design.

What distinguishes me from other brands is that, I make what the customer wants, and I work with them throughout the entire process to ensure that they are completely satisfied.

Q. What challenges have you faced with starting the line?
A. The challenges that I have faced, were that; it’s hard to market, “custom items” because everyone wants something different.  I have to price things based on exactly it is that each person wants, so it is hard to place an exact price on my website. However, I love making new things and I love the versatility!

Q. What personal goals would you like to accomplish with your business?
A. I would like to reach fan bases all over and I would like to continue to expand my business in other directions and ventures.
Q. Do you have any advice that you would offer to an aspiring entrepreneur?
A. I would say that it is not an easy process at all! It takes trial and error and you are never going to be perfect at what you do. You have to put yourself into the place of a consumer and put into place what you would expect yourself as a buyer.

Q. And finally, how do we get our hands on your custom designs?
Ig: Naturallycherrell #casesbycherrell

Also I know you are also a fellow Naturlista! Why did you decide to go natural?

Q.  How long have you been natural? Did you transition or did you big chop?
A. I will be three years natural at the end of June! 🙂 I did a pretty big chop and transitioned the front of my hair (about an 1ch long)

Q. What has been the most rewarding part of your natural hair journey?
A. I loved watching my hair grow back and grow back healthy!

Q. Has anything been a challenge on your journey?
A. The first few months were a challenge with the awkward length of my hair, but I was able to adjust! I don’t regret anything!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME CHERRELL!!!
